When I share the gospel, I often begin with one of my favorite Scriptures: Psalm 133:1 KJV, which states, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" If you’ve read any of my previous writings or had discussions with me, you’ve likely noticed how often I return to this verse. It resonates deeply with me because it captures a core truth about Christian living (the beauty and power of unity) and when my mom transitioned, the Bible was opened to this Scripture in the middle of her bed.
Unity is more than just agreement; it’s about living in harmony, embracing differences without division, and cultivating a spirit of peace. While disagreements may arise, Scripture reminds us that we can still “dwell together” by choosing respect, grace, and love over conflict. This unity sets a powerful example for the world around us. When believers walk together in love, we become a beacon that draws others in, not through force, but through the undeniable presence of God’s love in action. That’s why unity is at the heart of how I share the Word. Where there is unity, there is always opportunity. Opportunity for healing, for restoration, and for transformation.
Another foundational Scripture I often lean on in evangelism is Matthew 6:33 KJV, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This verse opens doors. It speaks directly to the human condition. Our needs, our wants, and our pursuit of fulfillment. By addressing the real desires of people’s hearts, I am able to redirect the conversation toward the ultimate source of provision: God. When people see that I genuinely care about their well-being, they become more receptive to the message of Christ. This Scripture reminds us that when we prioritize God, everything else begins to fall into place.
Finally, I often conclude with the verse that captures the heart of the Gospel: John 3:16 KJV, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This powerful declaration of God's unconditional love transcends boundaries and speaks to every soul. It gives me the opportunity to share how God’s love is not selective or conditional, it’s for all people, everywhere, without exception. In this verse, the full depth of God’s mercy, sacrifice, and desire for relationship is made clear. It is often here, in the simplicity and strength of this truth, that hearts are most open.
These Scriptures form the foundation of my witness: unity that draws, care that connects, and love that transforms. Through them, I have seen lives touched, walls broken down, and hearts turned toward God, not by my words, but by the enduring power of His Word.
