Genuine Love

The Bible teaches that love originates from God. With this understanding, we as believers are called to demonstrate genuine love if we are going to truly follow Christ. Consider this, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 KJV). Our Heavenly Father did not just state love, He demonstrated it through His divine action, and His love has not changed. Therefore, as believers there is a necessity for us to live a life that is full of love and not based on personal feelings or desires. Genuine love cannot be attached to conditions. The Book of John 13:34 KJV declares, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” Plain and simple, this scripture shares for us to reflect a love like Jesus as His followers. I get it! from a human perspective, some people can be difficult to love or should I say, they can make it hard to love, especially when we see how they treat others. Still, this is where the love of Christ must prevail over our normal feelings.

In conclusion, as we look around us, it seems the world has taken a dark turn toward things that are unpleasing to God, and the love and kindness we once had for one another seem to be dwindling. As a result, many people have developed their own worldviews, whether it aligns with the Word of God or not (good or evil). Nevertheless, if we would choose to live according to God’s Word, we could experience a "genuine love" that is truly overwhelming and beyond whatever the world could possibly offer.

Blessings,
