Is It Just Me?

As I sit back and observe the world around me, I cannot help but wonder is it just me, or if people are changing for the worse? The kindness and compassion that once seemed so common, even just two decades ago, now feel increasingly rare. More often, I see frustration, impatience, disconnection, and a lack of consideration for others. It’s as if many are constantly in a hurry, overwhelmed, and unable or unwilling to slow down and truly see one another.
Psalm 133:1 reminds us, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” I remember when communities and unity weren’t just ideas but living, breathing realities. We celebrated each other’s victories. We felt joy not only in our own lives but in seeing others succeed. Now, it seems, we have traded encouragement for envy. The word “hating” gets thrown around so freely, they are hating on me, or they are hating on them. It’s as if genuine happiness for others has been replaced by suspicion, competition, or resentment.
Where is the love? Love, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4–7, “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” This kind of love isn’t loud or flashy. It’s quiet strength. It’s grace under pressure. It’s choosing kindness when anger would be easier.
Maybe it isn’t just me. Maybe something really has shifted. But even so, we are not without hope. We can choose love and create in a way that reflects God’s heart rather than the culture around us.
Consider this, the greatest love the world has ever known came from God Himself. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16, KJV). That kind of love wasn’t passive. It gave. It sacrificed. It changed everything.
So maybe the world does look darker in some ways. But that’s even more reason for us to shine positive light. To love deeper. To build with kindness. To be united.
Is it just me???

No brother it’s not just you! Hopefully, all believers and non-believers can see that it’s time to really put our trust in the Lord; for he is the only one who can lead us down a righteous path.
