It Looks Bad, But It Is Not Hopeless

As I sit on the patio on this beautiful, sunny day, taking in the warmth of the sun and the quiet rustle of the breeze, my heart reflects on the state of the world around us. Yes, it is true, there is so much brokenness. Tragedies seem to unfold one after another. Many parents are burdened by the weight of providing, and our young people are often pulled into choices that do not serve them well. It can seem like the world spins forward, untouched by the pain within it. At times, hope feels like a distant thought. But take heart, this is not the end of the story. There is hope. There is healing. And there is restoration for our communities, our families, and our hearts. God’s Word reminds us in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” This promise still stands. God is ready to heal and to restore. However, it starts with us choosing humility, seeking His face, and turning our hearts fully back to Him.
Consider this, think of the woman with the issue of blood for twelve long years of suffering, trying everything and coming up short. But the moment she touched Jesus’ garment along with faith, everything changed. That is the kind of faith to which we are called. Bold. Believing. Unshaken. No matter how hopeless things may seem, God is still able. And He still responds to faith.
“My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” (Psalm 89:34). Today, you feel weary. You feel alone, forgotten, or like your prayers are unheard. But know this, God has not forgotten you. He sees you. He knows your struggles. He cares for you more deeply than you could ever imagine. “For the LORD thy God is a merciful God; he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant...” (Deuteronomy 4:31)
God is faithful even when we fall short. Even when the world around us feels chaotic, God remains our steady anchor. His promises are not fragile. They are firm. We are not walking alone; we walk with a God who never fails.
“Trust in the LORD, and do good… Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalm 37:3-4). This is our call, to trust, to delight in Him, to commit our lives, families, and futures into His hands. And when we do, He brings peace. He brings purpose. He brings joy.
My brothers and sisters do not lose hope. Do not let the enemy rob you of your joy or your faith. The challenges may be real, but so is our God. And He is bigger than anything we face. “For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee...” (Isaiah 54:10). Yes, things may look dark at times. But we are not without light. We walk by faith, not by sight. And our faith leads us to victory, because the One we walk with never fails.
Keep believing. Keep praying. Keep standing. Restoration is not only possible but also promised.
