Life Is Flying By

As I sit and reflect, I am honestly amazed by how quickly life has moved. How time seems to have rushed by. It feels like just yesterday I was cradling my babies in my arms, rocking them to sleep, hearing their little laughs echo through the house. And now, somehow, they have all grown up. I honestly thought childhood would never end, or maybe I just hoped it would not. But now, looking back, I see just how wrong I was. Where did those years go?

It hits me more and more these days how important it is to truly cherish the life we have been given, to soak in every moment with the people we love. We are now walking the path our parents once walked, and our kids will one day walk this same road. Life changes so quickly. One moment you think you have all the time in the world and then you feel the rush of years slipping.

There is a song by the Rolling Stones titled, “Time Is on My Side.” I used to believe that. But now, after revisiting the journey I have been on, I see time differently. It does not wait. It moves quietly, invisibly, until suddenly you are standing still one day and having the time to reflect.

So, now more than ever, I know this much is true, we must treasure our time. Tell the people we love just how much they mean to us. Show up. Be present. Say the words, give the hugs, make the calls, take the trips. Never miss the moments that matter because they really are everything.

Blessings,

fDawson
