Personal Testimony

I am but a branch connected to a family rooted deeply in faith. A family whose very foundation is built upon the living Word of God. Our strength, our joy, and our endurance come from a place of belief. We flourish through faith, and we are sustained by hope.
My personal walk with Christ began at the tender age of twelve. I will never forget that moment. It was during a powerful tent revival service under the anointed preaching of Bro. David Terrell, a true Mighty Man of God. That evening, I opened my heart and received Christ into my life. The presence of God was so real and so overwhelming; it was a moment of divine delight that I will never forget.
However, as the years passed, I found myself wrestling with the weight of being saved at such an early age. The challenges of youth and the struggle to relate with my peers began to pull me away from that initial joy. Though I was not living a corrupt life, I had strayed from walking in the fullness of God’s light. I began to reflect less of who Christ had called me to be. It was a painful season of spiritual disconnection but strangely, it also made me feel like a child again, uncertain and searching.
Through it all, one person remained a constant beacon of spiritual strength in my life, my mother. Though she transitioned approximately 30 years ago, her legacy continues to shape me today. She was, without question, a Mighty Woman of God. She walked in grace, discernment, and steadfast faith. Even in my moments of struggle, she never judged me. Instead, she poured into me, encouraging, praying, and gently guiding me back to the truth of God’s Word. She knew I was weak, but she never stopped believing that God’s strength would sustain me.
My mother carried a spirit similar to that of Nehemiah, burdened for the broken, yet full of intercession and hope. When others were suffering, she did not gossip or complain, she prayed. She believed in unity, in community, and in the power of obedience to God. Her life was a testimony, and her heart was set on glorifying the Lord in all things.
She was a true student of the Word, my mother modeled what it meant to “study to show thyself approved unto God” (2 Timothy 2:15). She read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation repeatedly. She instilled in the importance of not only reading the Word but rightly dividing it. She lived in a discipleship. She witnessed boldly, and because of her obedience towards God, many came to know Christ.
Her words, her prayers, and her example never left me. In time, God restored me. He renewed my heart and called me back, not to where I was, but to where He had always destined me to be. My restoration reminds me of a friend’s church’s motto that resonates deeply within my spirit: “Restoring the Wretched Back to the Redeemer.” That is my story. I have been redeemed.
Today, I am blessed to walk in my calling as a minister of the Gospel. Since 2006, I have been proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. For the past 19 years, I have had the joy of watching lives transformed, chains broken, and souls saved through the power of God’s Word. However, what brings me the most joy is that ministry is not limited to a pulpit or a Sunday morning. I share the Gospel every single day. I speak about our Heavenly Father, not just as a concept, but as the One who continues to move in my life. His grace is active, His mercy is unending, and His purpose for me is ever unfolding.
In closing, I am a witness to God’s goodness. I am a recipient of His mercy. I am a vessel for His glory.

I truly enjoyed your powerful testimony it was heartfelt and uplifting. Your mother was indeed a jewel and a true Woman of God, and her legacy shines brightly through you. Please continue to keep on keeping on in the Lord; I look forward to reading more of your messages. BKidd
Awesome mother! We all need someone to speak hope into life when we are walking in darkness! Praise God for a praying Mother!
