In the Arms of God

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah [Praise] (Psalms 46:1-3 KJV). As children of God, we live under His divine protection. He will never abandon or leave us stranded and alone. There is no security equivalent to resting in the Arms of God. His ability to comfort us has no limits, and He gives a peace unlike anything this world can offer.

Throughout the Bible, God is revealed as a refuge for His people, a place of safety and security. We can be assured that we are always carefully held in His loving arms and under His constant care. Psalm 4:8 KJV shares, “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” In this passage David demonstrates his complete trust in God, regardless of his circumstance. He knew true peace comes from God. Consider this, God’s peace supplies a supernatural sense of calm and stability that transcends our understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) declares, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Lastly, there is nothing like resting in the Arms of God. His comfort has no limitations. The enemy could not destroy the Hebrew boys because they were in the arms of God. God desires for us to be in His arms as well. Though we were in trouble, He showed His love by giving His only begotten Son for us. We are in God’s arms!

Blessings,
